Sioux Falls defense gets to QB seven times in Egg Bowl win
The Cougars beat Wayne State on the road, 38-17
WAYNE - The Sioux Falls defense proved to be too much for Wayne State.
The Cougars sacked WSC quarterback Nick Bohn seven times while scoring 21 in the fourth quarter to pull away in a 38-17 Egg Bowl victory.
Wayne State hung with Sioux Falls for three quarters, but couldn't finish off drives, settling for a field goal late in the second quarter, and turning it over on a drive that potentially would have tied the game in the third.
The Cougar defensive line didn't let WSC get comfortable, holding the Wildcats to 117 yards rushing, although Wayne State lost 51 yards in sacks.
Bohn finished 21-of-43 passing for 302 yards and a touchdown pass to Taurean Grady. The redshirt freshman quarterback also rushed for a touchdown and was named WSC MVP.
Sioux Falls averaged 7.1 yards per carry, paced by junior Thuro Reisdorfer, whose 146 rushing yards put him over 1,000 on the season, and moved him into the top ten all-time in career rushing yards at Sioux Falls.
The loss is Wayne State's ninth straight to Sioux Falls
