LINCOLN, Neb. -- Lincoln Police say they arrested a man they think broke into a Lincoln bank's ATM and stole documents.

Police were called Sunday morning to a US Bank location in Lincoln for a person tampering with the ATM.

Officers found a man standing by the ATM with the door open.

As the man saw officers, he immediately ran away carrying a bag.

Police say the man threw the bag while running and officers found it, which had documents that had been removed from the ATM.

Authorities say the man wasn't able to access the vault, so no cash was stolen.

The 25-year-old man was arrested for misdemeanor theft and criminal mischief.
