Former Nebraska assistant coach turns himself into police, pleads not guilty to domestic violence

A former assistant coach with the Nebraska football program turned himself into police in Ohio on Tuesday.

Carl Pelini, who served as defensive coordinator under his brother Bo Pelini for four seasons, had most recently been coaching at Cardinal Mooney High School in his hometown of Youngstown.

Authorities in Boardman, Ohio, had issued an arrest warrant for Pelini on Monday. He turned himself in early Tuesday morning was released after posting $2,500 bond.

He appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to one count of domestic violence Tuesday morning.

Police were called to the Pelini family home Sunday morning for a reported domestic violence incident. Pelini is under court order to stay away from the reported victim.
