Mya Mathes will play Softball for Peru State

Peru State softball coach JL Thomason and staff recently announced that Mya Mathes (Ankeny, Iowa) signed her national letter of intent to join the softball program this fall.

(Peru, Neb.) – Peru State softball coach JL Thomason and staff recently announced that Mya Mathes (Ankeny, Iowa) signed her national letter of intent to join the softball program this fall.
 
Mathes, daughter of Mark and Melanie Mathes, will be transferring from Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, Iowa.

During her full first year for the Panthers, Mathes played in fifty-three games tallying forty-three hits with three homeruns and driving in twenty-three. She was also Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Second Team All-Academic team for the Panthers.
 
While Mathes had primarily played third base for the Panthers, Mathes is expected to see time in the outfield for the Bobcats as well as behind the plate and infield.
 
She plans to major in psychology at Peru State in the fall.
