Blizzard warning issued for northeast Nebraska
Forecasters are expecting total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches in the affected counties, while winds are expected to gust as high as 55 miles per hour.

Blizzard conditions are expected in northeast Nebraska again this week. The National Weather Service in Omaha issued a blizzard warning for Burt, Cedar, Thurston and Wayne Counties from midnight tonight until 6 a.m. Friday. The blizzard warning also extends into southern South Dakota and western and central Iowa.
Forecasters are expecting total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches in the affected counties, while winds are expected to gust as high as 55 miles per hour. Authorities say to plan on slippery road conditions and reduced visibility.
The National Weather Service has also issued high wind warnings for all of Nebraska.
A powerful wind storm blew into southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska panhandle on Wednesday evening, causing power outages and impacting travel, with the wind expected to move into the eastern half of the state by Thursday.
An 86 mph wind gust was registered Wednesday at 9 p.m. four miles east of Scottsbluff and two miles east of Torrington; Alliance had a wind gust at 78 mph; winds gusted up to 77 mph near Gering; and a 75 mph gust was recorded at Crescent Lake.
The Sidney airport had a gust of 62 mph and Kimball felt a 63 mph gust. The highest wind gust at 105 mph was reported 11 miles southwest of Warren Air Force Base near Cheyenne.
