OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton has scored a basketball win over Nebraska for the second time in four days, this time in the form of a 78-62 win for the Bluejays’ women’s squad. It was the first loss of the season for the 3-1 Huskers, while Creighton improves to 2-3. Nebraska head coach Amy Williams remains winless against Creighton in five tries as the Bluejays have now won five straight in the series.

Eight different Bluejays hit three-pointers as Creighton combined to hit 13 shots from behind the arc. Creighton made 10 first-half three-pointers, including in the game’s crucial second quarter. The Bluejays outscored Nebraska 23-8 in the second frame, pushing Creighton out to a 42-21 lead at halftime. Creighton built its first-half lead on the strength of a game-opening drive and an 11-0 run in the second quarter.

Nebraska only had eight available players to start the game due to injuries to Trinity Brady, MiCole Cayton and Nailah Dillard. Then that number dropped to seven players when freshman guard Ruby Porter went down with an ankle injury with five minutes left in the second quarter.

Temi Carda and Tatum Rembao both scored 18 points to lead the Creighton, while Sam Haiby led Nebraska with 18 points. Nebraska was 25-for-53 from the field and had 13 turnovers.
