STANTON COUNTY - A Columbus man has been sentenced to jail time following his conviction for Procuring Alcohol to Minors.

The Stanton County Sheriff's Office says 22-year-old Luis Mayorga was sentenced in county court on Tuesday to 60 days in jail.

Authorities say Mayorga was sentenced for his actions in purchasing and providing kegs of beer that were seized back in June at a large beer party that was broken up by the Stanton County Sheriff's Office southeast of Stanton.

The person hosting the party was previously sentenced to seven days in jail and given one year of probation.

Numerous minors were charged with MIP as a result of the investigation.
