PHS cases trend up, small cluster outbreak in Fillmore County

CRETE, NE — A southeast Nebraska health department is investigating a small cluster outbreak in its district.

Public Health Solutions says there is a small cluster outbreak in Fillmore County. Health officials are conducting contact tracing on all confirmed cases and are calling anyone who could be a high-risk contact.

Overall, PHS reported 53 new coronavirus cases across Gage, Saline, Jefferson, Fillmore and Thayer counties this week. This is the highest weekly increase since May. 9.2 percent of tests returned positive. That is slightly below last week’s rate and the pandemic average for the district.

The Public Health Solutions risk dial worsened slightly but remained in the moderate risk category.
