SCOTTSBLUFF, NE - Scottsbluff and Gering Public Schools have tentatively rescheduled their graduations for the summer.

The schools announced the change in a joint statement Friday morning.

The plan is for both schools to hold graduation ceremonies on Sunday, June 21.

Gering's graduation will start at 1:00 p.m. at Five Rocks Amphitheater. Scottsbluff's graduation will be at Bearcat Stadium at start at 4:00 p.m.

The schools have also set backup dates in July if the June dates need to be rescheduled. The schools will give a notice by June 1, if the date does need to change.

The backup dates are Saturday, July 18, at 10:00 a.m. for Gering and Saturday, July 25, at 10:00 a.m. for Scottsbluff. The venues for each school would remain the same.

The schools are working on plans for virtual graduation recognition for students who may need to leave the area before the dates due to military service training or other obligations.
