Douglas County Department of Corrections Inmate Dies

 An inmate at the Douglas County Department of Corrections has died in custody.

OMAHA - An inmate at the Douglas County Department of Corrections has died in custody.

A Department of Corrections spokesperson says that 37-year-old Philip Teplitsky was taken to Nebraska Medicine Monday afternoon for a medical condition that became life-threatening.

He died Tuesday morning while hospitalized.

Teplitsky was being held at the Douglas County Department of Corrections for a Sex Offender Registry Violation.

There will be no further comment from officials pending a grand jury investigation.
