Norfolk offense comes alive in win over South Sioux City
SOUTH SIOUX CITY - The Norfolk girls basketball team offense hit heights it hadn't seen in years, beating South Sioux City on the road Saturday, 64-54.
Helped in no small part by a 27-for-34 performance from the free-throw line, the Panthers beat the Cardinals for just the second time in the last five years.
Norfolk had three players finish in double-figures, while their aggressive play kept South Sioux in foul trouble and off-balance.
The Panthers' 64 points were the most they'd scored in a game since a 69-61 win over South Sioux in January of 2014.
Three Cardinals fouled out, including senior Tiffany Tinker, who finished with a career-high 26 points and 13 rebounds.
The loss is South Sioux's fifth straight after a 4-1 start to the season.
