Beatrice Police Serve Weekend Search Warrant, Arrest Three
Beatrice Police arrest three suspects, after search of south Beatrice home uncovers drugs, paraphernalia and knives

BEATRICE – Three persons were arrested Saturday night after Beatrice Police served a search warrant at a house in the five-hundred block of South Tenth.
Lieutenant Jay Murphy said police earlier Saturday had received information about possible drugs and weapon in the home and sought a search warrant. Police executed the warrant at around 6:40 p.m., finding two adults and four children in the house…with one adult arriving at the home when the search was underway.
Murphy said police located mainly drug paraphernalia that contained suspected methamphetamine residue. Police also located syringes, scales and 5.2 grams of suspected meth. During the search, police did not recover any firearms but seized a couple of hunting knives.
Three adults who reside at the house were arrested, while four children, three boys and one girl, were turned over to state protective custody. The children range in age from three, to sixteen.
Police arrested 36-year-old James Orton on suspicion of drug possession, distribution of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person and four counts of child abuse.
29-year-old Ashley Orton was arrested on suspicion of drug possession, drug paraphernalia possession and four counts of child abuse.
43-year-old Michelle Harvey was arrested for drug and drug paraphernalia possession, possession with intent to distribute drugs and four counts of child abuse.
