Lincoln Police Investigating Friday Night Fatality Accident

The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a Friday night accident which resulted in a fatality.

LINCOLN - The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a Friday night accident which resulted in a fatality.

In a press release, LPD says officers were sent to a rollover accident on West O Street between NW 40th and NW 44th Street around 11:42 PM. A westbound SUV had collided with an eastbound pickup in the eastbound lanes.

The adult male driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene, and two individuals were transported to a local hospital from the pickup. One of the individuals from the pickup was suffering from critical injuries.

LPD says alcohol was believed to be a contributing factor in the accident, and seat belts were not in use. The investigation is ongoing, and identification of the deceased is pending next of kin notification.
