Woman struck by stray bullets

One woman has serious injuries after being hit by gunfire in Omaha Thursday afternoon.

OMAHA - One woman has serious injuries after being hit by gunfire in Omaha Thursday afternoon.

According to a news release, Officers responded to a shooting in the area of 30th and Parker Street around 2 PM Thursday.

When officers arrived they found 57-year-old Dorcas Woody suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Woody told officers she was standing on the corner when she heard several gunshots coming from behind the K-n-J gas station.

Woody was transported to Nebraska Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Officials say Woody was NOT the intended victim of the shooting.

Omaha Police did not have any suspect information to release as of Thursday evening.
