NEBRASKA - The National Weather Service is predicting that some areas of the state could see severe storms later on tonight.

According to the NWS, a slight risk for severe storms is possible in southeast Nebraska, with local heavy rain possible. There may be some isolated flooding in those areas due to the heavy rain that southeast Nebraska has received each of the last two nights.

A slight risk of severe storms is also possible in northeast Nebraska, near the South Dakota border. A better severe threat is possible in areas along and north of the Missouri River.

The lowest threat for severe weather is between the previous two regions, but there is still a small chance for isolated storms in areas such as Norfolk and Columbus. Overall, however, the coverage of storms in those areas may be limited.
