One Dead In Cedar County Crash

One person is dead after a two-vehicle accident in Cedar County on Wednesday.

CROFTON - One person is dead after a two-vehicle accident in Cedar County earlier this week.

The Nebraska State Patrol says the crash happened around 2 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Highway 12 and Highway 81 near Crofton involving a semi-truck and a van.

Authorities say 61-year-old Harlan Kleihauer of South Dakota was pronounced dead at the scene.

The semi-driver, 47-year-old Larry Kracht of Minnesota was treated and released.

The State Patrol was assisted by the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office and the Crofton Rescue Department.
