Madi Unzicker homers as Husker softball claims first game of Big Ten series against Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. - Nebraska rallied for three runs in the final two innings Friday to earn a 5-3 Big Ten softball victory over Wisconsin.


Nebraska has won four straight and six of its last seven to improve to 21-28 on the season.
Four Huskers had extra base hits, including a solo home run by Madi Unzicker in the seventh inning at Wisconsin's Goodman Diamond. Tristen Edwards was 3 of 4 and scored a run when Peyton Glatter hit a first-inning double.


Unzicker's first RBI came on a groundout in the first that gave Nebraska a 2-0 lead.


Lindsey Walljasper improved to 11-11 on the season, while Courtney Wallace earned her first career save by pitching the final two innings.


The three-game series continues Saturday at 1 p.m.
