Lincoln police investigating apparent shooting death near UNL's East Campus

LINCOLN - Lincoln police are investigating an apparent shooting death near the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's East Campus.


Police say officers were called to the area shortly after 9:30 a.m. Thursday and found a man lying injured on the ground with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The man, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police did not announce any arrests, but have said they do not believe there is an existing threat to the public.
