An Ashland teenager has died from injuries she suffered in a two-vehicle crash Friday night near U.S. Highway 6 and Pflug Road, the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office said.

Claire Kresak, 18, was taken by medical helicopter from the crash scene to Nebraska Medical Center, where she died Saturday evening, the Sheriff's Office said.
Another Ashland resident, 44-year-old Jeffrey A. Johnson, was injured in the collision but is expected to survive, the Sheriff's Office said in press release. He also was taken to Nebraska Medical Center.

The crash, reported at 10:02 p.m. Friday, involved a red 2014 Ford Fusion driven by Kresak and a blue 2007 Hyundai Entourage minivan driven by Johnson.
Kresak had been traveling west on Highway 6 and was trying to pass another westbound vehicle when her car collided head on with the eastbound minivan, the Sheriff's Office said.

The highway was closed for about 4½ hours after the crash. The South Metro Crash Response Team was called in to help.
