Northeast Nebraska faces potential tornadoes and wind damage this evening

NEBRASKA (News Channel Nebraska) - As we all know, there is an enhanced risk of severe weather today. The best potential for isolated tornadoes and more significant wind damage currently appears to be Friday evening in northeast Nebraska.
A multi-day period of elevated severe weather potential is expected beginning late this afternoon, then again Saturday afternoon and evening. Large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes could occur today. Best time frame is between 4 pm - 2 am. Large hail, damaging winds, and locally heavy rain could occur Saturday.
Severe storms develop by 4-5 pm across central Nebraska, moving northeast into northeast Nebraska most likely after 6 pm. Severe storm chances linger early overnight. Hazards include 1-2" hail, 60-75+ mph winds, isolated tornadoes, and locally heavy rain 1-1.5".
Slight risk of severe weather Saturday. Damaging winds and large hail will be the primary hazards. Locally heavy rain could also occur. Best time frame for Saturday is between 1 pm through 10 pm.
Hazards include mainly large hail and damaging winds.
Areas impacted would predominantly be northeast Nebraska today. And then southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa Saturday.
The greatest severe weather risk in our local area will be Friday between 6 pm and 4 am. The best severe weather risk Saturday will be 1 pm through 10 pm.
