Two people injured when fire breaks out at Omaha motel

Two people were taken to an Omaha hospital early Thursday after a fire broke out at a midtown motel.
The injured were taken in serious condition to Creighton University Medical Center-Bergan Mercy.
Firefighters were called to the Americas Best Value Inn at 7101 Grover St. at 4:51 a.m., according to a Douglas County 911 dispatcher. Crews remained at the scene at 6 a.m.
The Nebraska Humane Society was called to take care of a cat.
