CHADRON, NE (KCSR / KBPY) - The Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center in Chadron held an open house over the weekend for an opening of a new gallery.
On Saturday the community celebrated the opening of the “Heavenly Horses” exhibit, a combination of photos and paintings inspired by Mari Sandoz.
The exhibit features photos of Sandoz visiting horse farms in the 1940s and also includes artwork from South Dakota artist Tami Bauer.
In addition to exhibiting her work in the show, Bauer will conduct a free, public demonstration of her artistic techniques later in the month at the Sandoz Center
