Authorities have arrested a man at a home in Lincoln who was wanted in connection with a 2016 killing in Mississippi.

Monday night, the Metro Fugitive Task Force arrested 25-year-old Stephon Clay, who is a suspect in a fatal shooting in Clarksdale, Mississippi.
Clay was acting suspiciously near the federal courthouse in Lincoln on Monday, officials said. That prompted an investigation into his identity and location.

The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force gave local authorities more information about Clay. He was arrested about 10:30 p.m. near 46th and Orchard Streets.
He has been booked into Lancaster County Jail and awaits extradition to Mississippi.

"This arrest is a good example of the cooperation and communication between our task forces and fellow law enforcement partners," said Scott Kracl, U.S. marshal for the District of Nebraska. "It's always a win-win when we can take a suspected murderer off the street and go home safely to our families."
