Wymore Man Pleads No Contest to Sex Offense, Child Abuse

BEATRICE - A 34-year-old Wymore man will be sentenced June 19th, after pleading no contest to charges involving a minor.
Brenton DeGunia entered the pleas before Judge Rick Schreiner Wednesday in Gage County District Court, to charges of incest and intentional child abuse.
As part of a plea agreement, the most serious charge was reduced from first-degree sexual assault of a minor, while three other charges of first-degree sexual assault of a minor and one count of third-degree sexual assault, were dismissed.
DeGunia has been in custody at the Nebraska Diagnostic and Evaluation Center, in Lincoln. He was arrested last September 6th.
DeGunia could receive up to 23 years in prison and up to 18 months post-release supervision, at sentencing.
