PIERCE, NE - Residents of the eastern portion of Pierce remain evacuated but city officials have some positive news.
“We're starting to gain some headway now in the east side of the city,” Pierce Fire Chief Steve Dolesh said. “We did the mandatory evacuation as a precaution.”
Dolesh says the situation is improving but the evacuation order will continue until further notice. He encourages residents to check the city's Facebook page for updates.
