NORFOLK - if “the zone“ exists, Norfolk Catholic sophomore Brayden Kosch lived in it all Thursday night long, as he scored 29 to help the Knights knock off Wakefield 77–41 and advance to the boys district final.

Norfolk Catholic burst out of the gate, and before the fans could even sit down, had a 15–0 lead after 2 minutes. A theft-minded defense followed by an explosive transition game left Wakefield with their heads spinning. To their credit, the Trojans quickly reeled off eight points to close the gap, but a big 2nd quarter, particularly from Kosch, pushed the Knights to a 20-point halftime lead, with the sophomore hitting a buzzer-beating three to close out the half.

Callen Marshall chipped in 17 for Norfolk Catholic, and Leighton Burbach also finished in double digits with 11. Cael Johnson paced the Trojans with 11, and gamely played with an ankle injury for a good portion of the 2nd half.

Norfolk Catholic (21–4) heads to the district final, while Wakefield finishes their season at 16–9.
