KEARNEY, Neb. — Governor Jim Pillen has granted Kearney Mayor Jonathan Nikkila's request to order all U.S. and Nebraska state flags at City of Kearney facilities to be flown at half-staff on Saturday, Feb. 21, in honor of Michael Yanney.

A separate flag order was issued by the Governor in coordination with Mayor John Ewing of Omaha. It also authorizes the lowering of flags at city facilities to half-staff on Saturday.

Yanney, a lifelong Kearney resident, passed away on Feb. 14 at the age of 92.
