GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — The Nebraska Siege formally introduced Dominic Bramante as the franchise’s first head coach Friday during a press conference where team officials outlined the vision for the team’s inaugural season.

Officials described the hire as a foundational step for the new professional football franchise, citing Bramante’s decades of coaching experience and reputation as a culture-driven leader.

Bramante brings more than 20 years of experience across high school, collegiate, professional indoor football and NFL environments.

He previously helped build the Duke City Gladiators from the ground up, leading the franchise to back-to-back league championships in 2018 and 2019.

The appointment also carries cultural significance. Bramante is a member of the Otoe-Missouri Tribe of Oklahoma and is recognized as the first full-blooded Native American head coach in professional football history.

During the press conference, Bramante described the opportunity as a homecoming.

“Coming to Nebraska is like coming home,” said Bramante. “To think that I’m going to end my career at home is mind-boggling. I can promise you this — the team we will assemble, you will be proud of.”

Team officials also highlighted Bramante’s connection to NFL coaching circles. Bramante has worked with the Baltimore Ravens organization and is a contributor to the Harbaugh Coaching Academy, founded by Super Bowl–winning coach John Harbaugh.

Harbaugh praised Bramante in a recorded message played during the press conference, calling him a transformational leader and a coach who builds culture.

Husker Head Coach Matt Rhule also welcomed Bramante to Nebraska with a recorded message encouraging him to continue to add to the "greatest football state there is."

The Nebraska Siege will compete in the Arena League later this year, with Bramante overseeing all football operations during the franchise’s inaugural season.
