NOMINATE AN ATHLETE FOR ATHLETE OF THE MONTH

One of the state’s top bucket-getters is our ESPN Tri-Cities Male Athlete of the Month for December 2024.

Garret Johnson of Holdrege is averaging 28.2 points per game in his senior season, which MaxPreps lists as the highest point total in the state regardless of class. Johnson was dominant in December and scored at least 30 points in four different games. He’s scoring with remarkable efficiency, shooting 55% from the field and 47% from three-point range.

Johnson broke the Holdrege career scoring in December. The Dusters are 10-2 on the season.

Johnson committed in August to play college basketball at Concordia University.
