A vehicle fire at a livestock operation northeast of Kearney prompting a large response from local crews Wednesday.

KEARNEY, Neb. — A vehicle fire at a livestock operation northeast of Kearney prompting a large response from local crews Wednesday afternoon.

The call came in just after noon for a car on fire inside the Sweetwater Cattle feed yard, several miles northeast of the city.

Authorities found the unoccupied vehicle fully engulfed, parked between several pens holding cattle.

Kearney volunteer firefighters had the fire under control within about 30 minutes.

No injuries were reported to people or livestock. Police and EMS responded as a precaution.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
