Crews battle car engulfed in flames at gas station

Fire crews in Central Nebraska battle a car that was on fire at a gas pump Thursday.

KEARNEY, Neb. - Fire crews in Central Nebraska battle a car that was on fire at a gas pump Thursday.

The Kearney Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call at Speed Mart near Talmadge and 2nd Ave, just off of I-80, around 11 a.m.

An Suv was engulfed in flames while next to a gas pump, and witnesses at the scene told NCN the fire appeared to start near the car then quickly spread to the vehicle itself including the front end.

Fire crews put out the blaze in around five minutes after making contact.

Kearney Police say there were no injuries, and the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
