ALLIANCE, Neb. — A former Alliance Runza manager has pleaded guilty to two felony charges following an investigation by the Alliance Police Department into inappropriate contact with a minor.
Tyler Blomencamp entered a no contest plea to one count of Possession of Child Pornography and one count of Enticement by Electronic Communication. Both charges carry the potential for more than 20 years in prison.
Blomencamp was initially charged with multiple felonies after a forensic search of his cell phone yielded evidence supporting the case. Investigators obtained a search warrant as part of the APD’s probe into allegations against him.
Blomencamp remains free on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled for sentencing on May 28 at 11 a.m.
Alliance Police Chief David Leavitt credited the department’s specialized forensic technology and investigative work by Sergeant David LaDuke and School Resource Officer Tyler Sherlock for securing the conviction. The APD is the only law enforcement agency in the region with the capability to conduct advanced forensic analysis of digital devices, which proved crucial in the case.
“These types of cases depend on meticulous collection and preservation of evidence,” Leavitt said. “Because of the technology and dedication of our officers, we were able to present a strong case that led to this guilty plea and justice for the victim.”
