HASTINGS, Neb.- On Saturday, Hastings will be the center of the Nebraska Forensics world, as Hastings College is hosting the 140th annual state collegiate speech tournament.

This year, Kansas schools are allowed to join the tournament to double as their state tournament.

“We’re excited to host this year’s state collegiate speech tournament, especially given the history of the competition,” said Hastings College head forensics coach Jordan Johnson. “It’s going to be a great competition and gathering of talented Nebraska and Kansas forensics students.”

Some schools attending include UNL, UNO, UNK, Doane, Wayne State, and K-State among several others.

The tournament will be headquartered in the Morrison-Reeves Science Center.

Hastings College first hosted the event back in 1885, and most recently in 2017.
