Beckby wins Hastings Mayor election, four new city council members elected

According to unofficial election results, Jay Beckby defeated Jacque Cranson by over 1,000 votes to become the next Hastings Mayor.

HASTINGS, Neb. – According to unofficial election results, Jay Beckby defeated Jacque Cranson by over 1,000 votes to become the next Hastings Mayor. 

Results from the Adams County Election Commission show 5,633 votes for Beckby, and 4,556 votes for Cranson. 

Beckby currently owns The Tank and Beckby Motors/Enterprises in Hastings, plus the Blue Hill Tavern in Blue Hill, and Deano's Bar and Grill in Guide Rock.

For the four Hastings City Council races, Michael Anderson defeated Raquel Maar 1,141 to 538 votes.

In Ward 2, Larry Consbruck defeated Rick Klamm 1,810 to 1,006 votes.

In Ward 3,  Maggie Esch defeated Jody Stutzman 1,419 to 1,296 votes.

In Ward 4, Brian Hoffman defeated Craig Hubbard 1,249 to 1,012 votes.

The five candidates elected to the Hastings Public School Board were Jim Boeve, Sharon Behl Brooks, Chris Shade, Tamisha Rose-Osgood, and Erick Espinoza.

The three candidates elected to the Adams Central School Board were Chad Trausch, Chris Wahlmeier, and Mason Hoffman.

In the legislative race for District 33 (Adams, Kearney, Phelps counties) Dan Lonowski overwhelmingly defeated Michelle Smith 8,581 to 4,435 votes. 

Election results are unofficial until all provisional ballots have been counted, which will be no later than next Tuesday.
