NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Two people were injured after a multi-vehicle crash on I-80 in Lincoln County Monday morning.

The Nebraska State Patrol said a crash involving multiple semi-trucks occurred at 5:40 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-80, east of Sutherland.

Two people suffered minor injuries and were transported to the hospital, NSP said.

Westbound I-80 from Sutherland to Paxton was temporarily closed and NSP, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska Department of Transportation were rerouting traffic to Highway 30.

The westbound lanes of I-80 reopened around 9:30 a.m. The scene was cleaned up and all that appeared to be left was part of a semi in the median.

The investigation remains ongoing. This is a developing story and News 2 will share more details once they become available.
