Chadron State Football Hires Two New Coaching Assistants

CHADRON, Neb. – Chadron State football has announced two new coaching assistants that will join the CSC coaching staff for the upcoming 2025 season. DeMarcus Felton will be a coaching assistant for the team's running backs and Lorenzo Neal will focus on the defensive line.
Prior to joining CSC, Felton spent three seasons as the running backs coach, run game coordinator and recruiting coordinator of Dekaney High School in Houston, Texas, where he coached seven eventual Division I players.
Felton played college football at Texas Tech University in the Big XII Conference (Division I) from 2014-2018, racking up 10 rushing touchdowns during his career as a Red Raider. Felton's best season was his senior season, where he totaled 295 rushing yards and six TDs while averaging a team-high 4.8 yards per carry. Felton started six games and appeared in 47 over four seasons at Texas Tech.
Lorenzo Neal played college football at the University of Purdue in the Big Ten Conference (Division I) from 2017-2020. Neal was a team captain on the Boilermakers' defense and earned two Honorable Mention All-Big Ten selections during his playing career, racking up 73 tackles, four sacks and four forced fumbles as a defensive tackle.
Neal spent time with the NFL's New Orleans Saints and Denver Broncos in training camp ahead of the 2021 season and the Kansas City Chiefs ahead of the 2022 season. Neal's father, Lorenzo, played for 16 seasons in the NFL and was a four-time Pro Bowl selection and a three-time All-Pro as a fullback.
Felton and Neal join coaching assistants Logan Zacharias and Steve Chang, who are both entering their second seasons on staff with the Eagles. Zacharias will continue to focus on the offensive line while Chang will continue to work with defensive backs.
On head coach Jay Long's staff, offensive coordinator Micah Smith, defensive coordinator Clint Sasse, special teams coordinator Wes Coomes and quarterbacks coach Tommy Wilson will all continue in their roles as full-time coaches for the 2025 season.
Other Eagle support staff includes strength and conditioning coaches E.J. Kreis and Chase McClendon and athletic trainer Allison Curtis.
