Former Kearney Ruby Tuesday to be remodeled into financial offices
KEARNEY, Neb. — A remodel is in the works for a former restaurant in Central Nebraska following the city council’s approval of financial assistance.
Stonebridge Wealth Systems has unveiled plans to renovate the former Ruby Tuesday building in south Kearney into its new office.
The Ruby Tuesday building has been vacant for years and is in a prime location just north of Interstate 80.
Representatives approached the Kearney City Council Tuesday to secure tax increment financing, or TIF, to help make the project happen.
The Kearney City Council unanimously approved the proposal, granting Stonebridge 90% of the annual increase in real estate taxes up to the certified eligible project costs of just under $71,000 over a period of 15 years starting in 2025.
The current valuation of the property stands at just under $800,000, with an estimated new valuation of more than $1.1 million after the remodel.
Crews were on site on Tuesday getting to work on the remodel.
