Flood waters subside in Central Nebraska
Water levels are retreating after some heavy rains inundated parts of Central Nebraska Thursday morning.
CENTRAL NEBRASKA-- Water levels are retreating after some heavy rains inundated parts of Central Nebraska Thursday morning.
According to videos and photos shared by the NSW in Hastings, it showed roadways and portions of Howard and Sherman counties completely covered.
The NSW in Hastings issued flash flood warnings on Thursday in towns like Dannebrog, Elba, St. Paul, Howard City, Farwell and Boelus.
Reports indicated that one gauge north of Dannebrog showed water levels of about 12 feet over the course of a few hours. As of 5:45 it showed water levels of almost 17 feet.
Officials issued a flash flood warning around 1:30 for the southwestern part of Howard County on Friday until 4:30. Forecasters said that rainfall amounts of one to two inches were possible.
Roads and highways affected in the area have been clean up and are now drivable.
