KEARNEY, Neb. — A man is recovering from injuries after police say a Kearney man stabbed him multiple times.

It happened early Saturday morning at an apartment building in northwest Kearney. Police say officers responded to the building and found three people outside. According to a news release, a 47-year-old man was laying on the ground with multiple stab wounds from a knife to his upper torso. The officers summoned an ambulance, which transported him to a hospital.

A woman on scene was not injured but said the suspect had damaged her vehicle. Police arrested 23-year-old Chance Sanders for attempted homicide, first-degree assault, criminal mischief and a weapons violation. He is lodged in the Buffalo County Jail.

The stabbing victim was treated and released from the hospital.
