HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - A man accused of shooting at Hastings Police will now stand trial.

During a hearing Friday, an Adams County District Judge declared 35-year-old Anthony Mattison competent to stand trial. This ruling comes just about nine months after he was sent for treatment at the Lincoln Regional Center.

The charges stem from a shooting in 2022, where authorities say Mattison fired a weapon toward officers. Mattison has pleaded not guilty to 10 felony charges in the case. Pre-trial for this case is set to start on May 21.

Mattison is also charged in other felony cases in Lancaster, Hall and Platte counties.

Mattison was also believed to be one of the last people to be with a Columbus woman, who later was found murdered in Clay County, though no charges have been filed in her death at this time.
