Grand Island man accused of stabbing girlfriend in front of young children
A Grand Island man is behind bars accused of attempted second-degree murder.
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — A Grand Island man is behind bars accused of attempted second-degree murder.
Police say officers were dispatched to a home in the 1000 block of Hall St. just before midnight on Sunday. According to a news release, officers arrived and found a woman with multiple stab wounds to her hands and head. The victim said her boyfriend, Daniel Ramirez Castaneda attacked her with a knife in front of their six-year-old and nine-month-old children.
Officers arrested Ramirez Castaneda at the house. They say he was restraining the woman inside the home under terroristic circumstances and attempted to dispose of evidence by cleaning the weapon and crime scene.
Ramirez Castaneda is lodged at Hall County Corrections on suspicion of attempted second-degree murder, intentional child abuse, first-degree false imprisonment, tampering with evidence and a weapons violation.
