JOHNSON LAKE, Neb. — For the second time in a week, authorities are investigating a death at Johnson Lake.

The latest incident happened late Wednesday afternoon at Lakeside Trailer Court. The Gosper County Sheriff’s Office says Sheriff Jesse Naputi responded to a check welfare call and found a trailer that had recently been on fire. He entered the residence and found a man’s body inside. A news release says investigators believe the man lived at the trailer. The county coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting with the death and fire investigation. An autopsy is being conducted. Authorities will release the victim’s name after notifying the next of kin.

The fire follows a UTV accident at Johnson Lake, which is 10 miles south of Lexington, on Jan. 31. 16-year-old Alberto Emilio Silva died at the scene of the crash.
