KEARNEY, Neb. — A Nebraska snowplow is now bearing a name created by a Kearney Public Schools elementary student.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation selected Northeast Elementary third-grader Reid McClanahan’s entry as one of 16 winners. There were 1200 entries overall.

The snowplow is now named The Banana Scooper. The name is printed on the door of the plow and the plow will carry that name on the NDOT’s snowplow tracker. McClanahan also received a prize package and thank you from the NDOT.
