HASTINGS, Neb. -- A 42-year-old Hastings man has been sentenced to more than 33 years in prison for the production of child pornography.

The U.S. Attorney said that 42-year-old Joshua Sund was sentenced on Tuesday in Lincoln for two counts of production of child porn.

Sund was sentenced to 400 months in prison, and he will also be required to serve 10 years on supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.

He was also ordered to pay $3,000 which will contribute to funds that were established for victims of these types of crimes.

Court documents said the case started on Nov. 3, 2021, when a concerned person reported to the Hastings Police Department that he had bought a laptop from Sund, and the buyer found videos on the computer that appeared to be Sund engaged in sexually explicit conduct with a prepubescent minor.

It was reported that law enforcement got a search warrant for the computer and did a forensic download.

Law enforcement found the videos in question from the download of the computer.

Authorities said they were able to identify Sund as the male in the videos.

The court said there were seven videos showing Sund engage in sexually explicit conduct with a prepubescent minor which happened on five different occasions spanning about a year and a half.

This case was investigated by the HPD and the FBI.
