Hastings Police celebrate recent promotions

Several members of the Hastings Police Department are serving in new roles.

HASTINGS, Neb. - Several members of the Hastings Police Department are serving in new roles.

The Hastings Police Department celebrated the promotion of Jason Haase to Captain and Nathan Hanson to Sergeant on Thursday afternoon. Friends, family and co-workers, and City of Hastings administration members shared in the joint celebration.

Haase has provided 14 years of service to the Hastings Police Department and has been a Sergeant since 2017. A news release says he is an instructor for the Hastings Police Department, participates in committees and oversees various projects. 

Sergeant Hanson provided seven years of service to the Hastings Police Department and has been a Corporal since 2019. The release says Hanson is an instructor and Tactical Response Team member for Hastings Police Department.

On May 21, officers Tony Burnett and Ethan Sharman were promoted to corporal. They will be recognized with a ceremony on Tuesday.
