Hastings St. Cecilia student is finalist for Jimmy Awards

An area student could be going to New York for a national musical theatre conference.

HASTINGS, Neb. - An area student could be going to New York for a national musical theatre conference.

Jordan Head of Hastings St. Cecilia is one of 14 Nebraska finalists being considered to represent Nebraska at the Jimmy Awards, which is the National High School Musical Theatre Awards. Head will perform and be honored at The Orpheum Theater in Omaha on June 4th at the Nebraska High School Theater Showcase. Two of the 14 finalists will be picked to go to New York for a week-long experience that includes coaching from Broadway performers.

Head performed in the STC musical in 2022 as “Fiona” in Shrek the Musical and as “Belle” in Beauty and the Beast in 2023. She is also a member of the high school choir, dance team, softball and track.

Reese Schultz of Northwest High School is also a Jimmy Awards finalist.
