Two arrested on multiple charges following pursuit in Lincoln

Two people from central Nebraska were arrested in Lincoln after an early Monday morning pursuit.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Two people from central Nebraska were arrested in Lincoln after an early Monday morning pursuit. 

The Nebraska State Patrol said they arrested 37-year-old Robert Allen of York and 27-year-old Angel Hauschild of Shelton Monday for multiple charges. 

Troopers with the NSP said around 1:10 a.m. Monday, they got information that the Lincoln Police Department tried to do a traffic stop on a vehicle. Rather than stopping, authorities said that the vehicle fled. 

NSP said the vehicle was reportedly stolen. 

Officials said that a short time later, a trooper saw the same vehicle, a Dodge Caravan, was speeding on Waverly Road near Highway 77, north of Lincoln. 

The Trooper reportedly tried to also perform a traffic stop, but the driver, Allen, did not sop and fled. NSP said the trooper then initiated a pursuit. 

Authorities said the vehicle fled southbound on Highway 77 going towards Lincoln. 

Allen then turned eastbound on Fletcher, according to NSP, the trooper then tried a tactical vehicle intervention. 

NSP said Allen was able to regain control of the vehicle and continued to flee. In the processing of fleeing, Allen hit another trooper's patrol unit. 

Allen reportedly continued southbound on Highway 77 and troopers continued the pursuit. 

Officials said the vehicle turned eastbound on Havelock Ave. and eventually turned northbound on 70th St. 

According to the NSP, at the intersection of 70th and Burlington Ave. a trooper was able to successfully do a tactical vehicle intervention to get the vehicle to stop. 

Both Allen and Hauschild were reportedly taken into custody without further incident. 

Allen was arrested for willful reckless driving, assault on a peace officer, flight to avoid arrest, unauthorized use of a vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana - less than one ounce, and driving with a revoked license. 

Hauschild, the passenger, was arrested for possession of meth and an outstanding warrant. 

Both of them were lodged in the Lancaster County Jail. 

NSP said the entire pursuit laster about 10 minutes.

The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office and LPD assisted in the incident. 

Authorities said that no officers were injured.
