LINCOLN, Neb. -- An inmate with charges out of Adams and Lancaster Counties is back in custody after he went missing in December 2022.

Officials said Richard Reynolds was arrested by the Council Bluffs Police Department for new charges on Wednesday and was booked into the Pottawattamie County Jail in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

According to authorities, Reynolds went missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L) on Dec. 1, 2022. He reportedly did not return to the facility after he finished work in Waverly.

Court documents said Reynolds was serving 7 1/2 years to 13 years for charges out of Adams and Lancaster Counties that included use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, third degree domestic assault, assaulting a peace officer, escape and theft by unlawful taking.

Officials said Reynolds started his sentence on Dec. 28, 2017. He has a tentative release date of Jan. 24, 2024.
