GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- The Nebraska State Patrol said they did alcohol inspections in a couple central counties, and they had 90% compliance.
On Oct. 21 in the evening, investigators with the NSP conducted alcohol inspections in Hall and Howard Counties.
The NSP said this project was supported in whole or part by grant #0043 under the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office.
In total, 40 businesses were inspected. The NSP said four of those businesses sold alcohol to a minor for a compliance rate of 90%. The four businesses that sold to a minor failed to check the minor’s ID.
The businesses that failed the inspections were Charlie’s Station of Elba in Elba, McKinney's Irish Pub in Grand Island, Snac Shac in Grand Island, and Carlos O'Kelly's in Grand Island.
Businesses that fail the inspections are referred to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. Clerks who sell alcohol to a minor are cited for procuring alcohol for a minor.
