Grand Island teen pleads not guilty to second rape charge
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- A Grand Island teen, facing two rape charges, has now formally pleaded not guilty to both.
Aidan Jaeger, 18, is charged with first-degree sexual assault in a case in which a 16-year-old girl said that he raped her in March.
The victim said Jaeger took off her clothes and sexually assaulted her. Jaeger waived an evidence hearing in that case and pleaded not guilty. A trial on that charge is scheduled in November.
Jaeger is also accused in a separate case of repeatedly raping another female over a period of several months.
The victim said Jaeger sexually assaulted her in spite of her pleas for him to stop. He’s also pleaded not guilty in that case and a jury trial is scheduled for Aug. 1.
A conviction of first-degree sexual assault carries a max penalty of 50 years in prison.
